Holy Eucharist: St. Mark's Chapel 8 a.m. Sunday
The 8 a.m. service in St. Mark's Chapel is a Rite II Holy Eucharist (Book of Common Prayer). The congregation likes its quiet and contemplative nature. The service usually lasts under an hour. Coffee and tea are served immediately after the service and there is a brief time to socialize before the 9 a.m. Adult Forum.
Choral Eucharist | Children's Worship : St. Mark's Church 10 a.m. Sunday
The 10 a.m. service uses various forms of The Holy Eucharist from the Anglican tradition. Music is a vital part of our 10 a.m. worship. The congregation gathers around the altar for Communion. After the service there is a finger-food reception (the agape meal) in the chancel. There is a special service and program (KidsWord) for children during the Liturgy of the Word (the first half of the service). The children join their parents in the church as we gather around the altar. There is child care for infants and toddlers for the duration of the service. There are often special events or presentations by the children. If parents prefer to keep their children with them in the church, there is a basket of quiet toys available in the back of the church in the old narthex. The service lasts about an hour and a quarter.
Song of the Soul 5:00 p.m. until 6:00
starting September 12
On Sunday we will welcome everyone home as beloved members of the family of God by proclaiming, "If you think you can't come home again, because the might-haves and the should-haves and the didn't- quites have taken hold. Then think again. Look homeward angels, prodigal sons and daughters all. Wide is the gate and wide the arms to bring you home. If home is where you are forgiven, where you are loved unconditionally, where you are offered hope in the future and strength for the journey, then welcome home..."
Compline: St. Nicholas Chapel 7:30 p.m. Tuesday
